NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) continues to strengthen cooperation with Ukraine on innovation, interoperability, and operational insights from modern warfare.
During his recent visit, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, Admiral Pierre Vandier, met with Ukrainian political and military leadership to exchange operational perspectives on counter-drone defence, the use of data in operations, and how capabilities are rapidly developed, tested, and fielded in real time.
Technology matters. But what makes the difference today is not sophistication alone. It is the speed of integration, the speed of adaptation, and the ability to turn innovation rapidly into operational effect.
— Admiral Pierre Vandier
Supreme Allied Commander Transformation
Discussions focused on counter-drone defence, data-driven operations, and integrating emerging technologies into operational use. Ukraine is contributing valuable operational experience from full-scale war, particularly in building layered air defence and advancing situational awareness.
The share of intercepted targets is steadily increasing. This is an effective and affordable way to destroy drones. Our goal is to achieve a 95% interception rate.
— Serhii Boiev
Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for European Integration
Cooperation through initiatives such as NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC) and innovation platforms is helping translate these insights into practical outcomes for the Alliance, supporting stronger readiness, resilience, and collective defence.
