Norfolk NATO Festival Returns in 2022

The Hampton Roads community will once again honour its long-standing connection with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization by celebrating the annual Norfolk NATO Festival, April 25th-30th.

The festival, which is in its 69th year, brings together NATO and the Hampton Roads region to allow the local community and visitors to learn about the Alliance and the two commands that call Norfolk home.

The festival recognizes and celebrates NATO’s two North American-based commands, Allied Command Transformation and Joint Force Command Norfolk, for their contributions, achievements and influence in its community, the United States and the globe.

This year, the festival will return to its original format for the first time since 2019 due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The live music performance will kick off the week’s festivities, followed by a Flag raising ceremony later that week. The parade of NATO nations and the International Village will wrap up this year’s festival. The Virginia International Tattoo will also run throughout the week and honour NATO and its 30 nations during their performance on “NATO Night.”

The Norfolk NATO Festival is the longest continuously running festival in the Hampton Roads region and the only one of its kind in the United States. You can join the online portions of the event using the Command social media channels.
