Norfolk, Virginia – NATO Allied Command Transformation recently welcomed a delegation from the NATO Defense College in Rome, Italy. The 78-person group, members of the college’s Senior Course, represent 36 nations, engaged in discussions and presentations during their visit.
Focus on Strategic Understanding:
The NATO Defense College, established in 1951, aims to cultivate critical thinking, strategic understanding and human interoperability among military and civilian officials. The Senior Course, attended by the delegation, is designed to broaden participants’ knowledge of NATO and the global security environment.
Key Discussions:
During the visit, Admiral Pierre Vandier, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, met with Lieutenant General Max Nielsen, NATO Defense College Commandant, and Dr. Christopher Schnaubelt, Dean and Deputy Commandant. Their discussions centred on Allied Command Transformation’s priorities, including the NATO Warfighting Capstone Concept, Multi-Domain Operations, and Interoperability within NATO.
