Strategic Foresight Analysis identifies and assesses drivers of change which are shaping the characteristics of the evolving security environment by encouraging practitioners to explore the root drivers behind emerging trends, enabling the standardized research of a wide range of complex issues and the development of plausible scenarios with a more robust assessment of their potential implications.
The first Allied Foresight Conference was held in Helsinki, Finland in 2024. It served to establish and facilitate dialogue among Allied and Partner nation experts in the fields of predictive futures analysis, including the policy planning, defence planning and warfare development communities as well as academia and industry.
The second annual Allied Foresight Conference was held at the NATO Defense College in Rome, marking another step forward in Allied Command Transformation’s effort to ensure NATO remains ready for the challenges of tomorrow. Co-hosted by Allied Command Transformation and the NATO Defense College, the conference brought together experts from across the Alliance, partner nations, academia, and industry under the theme “Tomorrow Starts Today.”
The third annual Allied Foresight Conference will be held in Berlin, Germany, under the theme “From Today to the Fight of Tomorrow”, aiming to promote a proactive and collective approach to strategic foresight in anticipating the future security environment and strengthen the Alliance’s collective capacity to shape future security challenges.
