DIVISION: Strategic Plans and Policy BRANCH/SECTION: Strategic Issues and Engagement
DETAILS OF PROJECT:
The SIE Branch is responsible for the designing, planning and execution of strategic level engagements in support of SACT warfare development priorities. This task includes, but is not limited to developing strategic engagement aims, objectives and outcomes, identifying and negotiating themes and topics in cooperation with other stakeholders, designing content delivery methods, developing strategic messaging and coordinating delivery of all administration and logistics details. The team works closely with a broad range of stakeholders from across the NATO enterprise, allied and partner nations, academia, think tanks and industry.
Under the direction of the Branch Head, Intern main duties and tasks include:
- Contribution to the development of content in support of strategic engagements for SACT.
- Supporting organization and execution of Diamond Events (High-level symposia, conferences, seminars, etc.) which are held at HQ SACT
- Attending internal HQ SACT meetings and working groups as required.
- Supporting the ongoing expansion of the branch’s professional network.
- Collaborating and participating in all other tasks Branch is involved with.
EXPECTED DELIVERABLE(S):
The intern is expected to:
- Provide short analysis, assessments, summaries, or written updates on strategic issues and documents.
- Assist in developing reports of the HQ SACT workshops, meetings, conferences and other activities organized by the Branch.
- Assist in drafting of Read Aheads, agendas and prepare material, presentations and talking points/notes for SIE Staff.
- Perform research on topics of interest for the Branch.
Other deliverables will be tailored based on the experience of the selected intern and the requirements of specific projects.
Specific deliverables will depend on the type of proposals and initiatives that could be developed at the time the position is filled.
TYPE OF BACKGROUND/EDUCATION PREFERRED:
- Current or recent Post Graduate student in political science/international relations/law and diplomacy
- Moderate digital literacy and high level knowledge of Microsoft Office.
