DETAILS OF PROJECT:

The MSLT at NATO HQ SACT is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic intern to join our team. This project involves working closely with the MSLT branch Staff to enhance the technological aspects of NATO’s training and educational programs. The intern will be involved in various aspects of learning and simulation technology, including the development and implementation of e-learning tools, virtual training environments, and the integration of innovative educational technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting in the research and analysis of new modelling and simulation and learning technologies and methodologies.
  2. Supporting the development and maintenance of e-learning content and platforms.
  3. Participating in the planning and execution of technology-enhanced training programs.
  4. Collaborating with team members to ensure the effective integration of technology into NATO’s training initiatives.
  5. Contributing to the evaluation and assessment of modelling and simulation and learning technology tools and platforms.

EXPECTED DELIVERABLE(S):

The intern will support the ongoing audit work as a team member, this will include:

  1. Reports on emerging trends and technologies in modelling and simulation, e-learning and virtual training environments relevant to NATO’s needs.
  2. Development and/or enhancement of specific e-learning modules or tools, as directed by the Learning Technology Staff Officer.
  3. Active participation in the planning and execution of at least one major training event or exercise, with a focus on the technological aspects.
  4. Developing presentations summarizing key learnings, contributions, and recommendations for future technology integration in NATO training.

TYPE OF BACKGROUND/EDUCATION PREFERRED:

Essential:

  1. Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a post graduate degree programme in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, modelling and simulation or a related field.
  2. A strong interest in and understanding of e-learning, virtual training environments, modelling and simulation and educational technology.
  3. Basic knowledge of learning management systems (LMS), content development tools, virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR) technologies and constructive simulations.
  4. Excellent analytical and research skills.
  5. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  6. Ability to work independently and take initiative on assigned projects.
