NORFOLK, VA. – On February 13th 2024, NATO Allied Command Transformation hosted students from the US Army War College for an array of dialogues and presentations. During the visit, Allied Command Transformation staff presented the current state of Multi-Domain Operations in NATO, as well as the challenges and opportunities of Multi-Domain Operations, which involve the integration of land, sea, air, space, and cyber capabilities. The students also discussed the importance of interoperability and collaboration between different military services and allied nations.

Commander Philipp Wohlrab, from Allied Command Transformation’s Multi-Domain Operations Implementation Team, emphasized the importance of these exchanges in addressing the complex security challenges of the 21st century. “Multi-domain operations require a joint and integrated approach, and we need to work together to develop the capabilities and concepts that will enable us to succeed in this environment,” he said.

Multi-Domain Operations represent a pivotal shift in NATO’s approach. This transformative concept empowers the Alliance to strategically influence events, synchronize efforts with external stakeholders, and present formidable challenges to adversaries.
