DIVISION: Staff Advisory Group (SAG) BRANCH/SECTION: ACT Office of Internal Audit (OIA)
DETAILS OF PROJECT:
The ACT Office of Internal Audit is responsible for directing all financial, risk, operational and performance audits throughout the Command, in the form of audit and consulting engagements. The audit activities include assurance as well as consulting engagements. They cover all ACT activities and programmes. The office delivers high quality and timely audit reports and adheres to international standards for internal auditing. The office plays a key role in supporting the application within ACT of NATO policies and best practices, for example within risk management, internal controls, and governance. The office is consistently assessing the use of state of the art data driven and agile auditing approaches and methodologies. The intern will support the ACT Office of Internal Audit in its preparation and implementation of tasks related to the ACT audit plan and other associated duties.
EXPECTED DELIVERABLE(S):
The intern will support the ongoing audit work as a team member, this will include:
- Drafting of descriptive and analytical work paper deliverables, including but not limited to, supporting work papers and section in engagement reports.
- Conduct of research and systematic analysis of information relating to current audit plans and audit recommendation follow-up activities.
- Assist in the preparation of an ACT Audit Advisory Panel.
- Track implementation status of audit recommendations, and update tracking.
- Update information on the web portals for ACT Office of internal Audit.
- Other deliverables based on experience of the selected intern and specific projects.
TYPE OF BACKGROUND/EDUCATION PREFERRED:
Essential:
- Current or recent Post Graduate student in a relevant field e.g. audit, finance, economy, public or business administration, or political science; however, a postgraduate degree would be more preferable.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes, preferably including SharePoint
- Understanding of the principles of quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Ability to present analysis results in both written and spoken English.
Desirable:
- Experience in or knowledge with audit or financial operations.
