The NATO Resource Conference 2023 took place on 23-25 May 2023 in Ottawa, Canada. The event, organized in close cooperation between the NATO HQ International Staff, Allied Command Transformation, and the National Representatives from Canada, brought together decision-makers and representatives from across NATO member nations.
Under the theme of “Turning Ambition into Action: Delivering Common Funded Capabilities Better, Faster, Smarter,” the conference provided a vital platform for open discussions and insightful exchanges regarding resourcing the Alliance and delivering common funded capabilities in an ever-changing and complex security environment.
With the 2021 Brussels Summit, the 2022 Madrid Summit, and NATO’s 2022 Strategic Concept setting higher ambitions for the Alliance, the conference focused on the crucial role of the resource community in translating decisions made by Heads of State and Government into concrete actions. Participants engaged in fruitful deliberations to explore innovative ideas and strategies aimed at achieving this fundamental objective for our Alliance.
The NATO Resource Conference featured a diverse lineup of external and internal speakers, incorporating various discussion formats to actively involve the audience in productive exchanges of ideas and insights. By drawing upon national experiences and leveraging private sector expertise, the event aimed to expand knowledge throughout NATO, fostering a collaborative approach towards maximizing the use of resources to meet current and future military requirements and counter threats effectively.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all the participants, speakers, and contributors who made the NATO Resource Conference 2023 a resounding success. Your active engagement and valuable insights have greatly contributed to the advancement of NATO’s resource capabilities.
