In partnership with Allied Command Transformation, the Atlantic Council Program for International Security hosted the first of the seven Global Commons workshops, in Washington, D.C.

The workshop brought together experts from several fields to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with each domain; questions of definition and a conceptual framework; NATO's potential role as a forum for deliberations and the development of norms; and the practicalities of capabilities, missions, and roles for the Alliance.

Participants across the transatlantic community offered a variety of perspectives and expertise regarding NATO's potential roles in the Commons.
