Basic PA Training

While basic PA training is a national responsibility, ACT recognizes that not all nations can currently provide this capacity adequately, particularly in English. As such, ACT has observed a number of basic-level PA courses which are recommended.

NATO PA Training

Since November 2010, two separate one-week PA courses are offered at the NATO School in Oberammergau, each course available three times a year. These courses, called NATO Public Affairs Policy Indoctrination Course and NATO Public Affairs in Operations Course replaced the former two-week NATO Public Affairs Course.

Advanced PA Training

In addition to the NATO School PA courses, advanced PA training may be offered at the following national schools:

The command for Management, Information and Communication Training in the Swiss Armed Forces (MICA), United Kingdom’s Defence Media Operations Centre (DMOC), United States’ Defense Information School (DINFOS).

NATO PA Positions

NATO offers a host of opportunities for qualified Public Affairs Officers.

Military positions are filled by nations that have committed themselves through NATO's official manning conferences.  Contact your unit, defence headquarters, or Ministry of Defence through your chain of command as appropriate.
