BRANCH/SECTION: Strategic Issues & Engagement Branch
DETAILS OF PROJECT:
Strategic Issues and Engagement (SIE) Branch is responsible for directing and coordinating the continued development of strategic issues ensuring close coordination with Strategic Policy and the subsequent promotion within the Alliance through the development and implementation of the Strategic Engagement Plan.
The intern will work under the direction of the sponsor contributing to the strategic issues programme of work, providing support through content development and the production of formal staff documents. The intern will also be required to establish and maintain contact with a network of military and academic institutions to generate innovative ideas and strategies.
The intern is expected to fully participate in a multinational output focused team in the identification of potential strategic topics for consideration by SACT and in the delivery of innovative solutions which will form the basis for strategic documents and advice to senior NATO staff.
Specific deliverables will depend on the type of proposals and initiatives’ being implemented at the time the position is filled.
TYPE OF BACKGROUND/EDUCATION PREFERRED:
Current or recent Postgraduate student in political science/international relations/law and diplomacy.
