JOB DESCRIPTION FOR POSSIBLE INTERNSHIP 2019

DIVISION: COMMAND GROUP

BRANCH/SECTION: STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS (Public Affairs Office)

DETAILS OF PROJECT:

Contribute to journalistic coverage of ACT programmes and events as directed by the Chief Public Affairs Officer and by the Media Relations and Production Officer. Produce articles, videos and podcasts for the unclassified website www.act.nato.int as well as for Social Media platforms such as FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram. Prepare written command information material such as Trifolds and Fact Sheets and design graphic displays for use at ACT events as directed. Provide audio-visual and logistical support to events both inside and outside the headquarters. Assist in the planning and execution of the Community Relations (ComRel) events such as the Model NATO Challenge (MNC) and Norfolk NATO Festival (NNF) events. In order for the command to deal with emergent requirements, the intern may be required to perform other related duties as directed (in particular working as member of working groups or project teams, for defined periods of time).

EXPECTED DELIVERABLE(S):

Journalistic web articles, Social Media posts, audio-visual and logistical support. Participation in ComRel events.

TYPE OF BACKGROUND/EDUCATION PREFERRED:

Current or recently graduated Postgraduate student in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, English Writing or other related field. Experience in writing editorial content for print or web based production. Advanced knowledge of written English essential.
