JOB DESCRIPTION FOR POSSIBLE INTERNSHIP 2019

DIVISION: Capability Development, Command and Control, Deployment, Sustainability

BRANCH/SECTION: Logistics, Deployment & Sustainment

DETAILS OF PROJECT:

Under the HQ SACT Internship Programme, an opportunity exists in the LDS Branch for an intern in international relations, business administration or programme management. Under the direction of the sponsor and the Section Head sustainment, the intern focuses, as part of an integrated team, on establishing relationships to industry and academia. 


More specifically, the intern will support in the following activities:

  • reinforce industry/academia engagement in LDS priorities by
    • organizing and managing the relationship with industrial stakeholders,
    • enhancing the information sharing tools with industrial stakeholders,
    • ensuring the appropriate interaction with industry relating to capability development and research prioritization processes;
    • involving academia and their research capabilities
  • support the development of NATO concept of use papers for emerging technologies
  • ensure close relations with relevant stakeholders (among others participating Member States, EDA, NATO agencies, etc.)
  • take on additional tasks as required

EXPECTED DELIVERABLE(S):

  1. Research reports and logistics summaries
  2. Stakeholder matrix
  3. Stakeholder engagement plan
  4. Point Papers and PowerPoint presentations
  5. Meeting organization, participation and recording

TYPE OF BACKGROUND/EDUCATION PREFERRED:

Current or recent postgraduate student preferably in the fields of international affairs or business administration.The candidate will be required to demonstrate that he/she has:

  • basic knowledge with the defence international environment;
  • basic knowledge of NATO polices and political-military decision making process;
  • experience of organisational and process change;
  • ability to communicate in English effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • ability to work in a team and independently in his/her area of responsibility;
  • effective management skills.
