DETAILS OF PROJECT:
The DPI branch is an inter-connected key player in the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation’s HQ (HQ SACT). It is responsible for coordination and integration of SACT contributions to the NATO Capability Development (CD). DPI also provides expertise on methods and procedures in support of the NATO defence planning process (NDPP) and works closely together with almost all entities in NATO.
The intern will work under the direction of the sponsor in the wide sphere of strategic analysis, concept development and project management to meet the future challenges of the alliance. To understand the versatility of Capability Development in NATO, the intern will be introduced in the differences of military doctrines, policies, publications, High Level Guidance and also other topics of interest that could be relevant in the NATO defence planning.
The intern is expected to fully participate as part of a team in the creation of innovative solutions to develop strategic documents or advices of NATO staff. Specific deliverables will depend on the type of proposals and initiatives’ being implemented at the time the position is filled.
TYPE OF BACKGROUND/EDUCATION PREFERRED:
Current or recent Postgraduate student in political science, international relations, public policy or humanities. English proficiency and strong interpersonal skills are essential. An interest in governmental and military affairs and previous work experience in defence or security would be highly desirable.
